Contemporary Metal SculptureNathaniel Hein creates towering, fluid, evocative fine art sculptures out of his studio in Memphis Tennessee. His abstract interpretations of the human form have been displayed in galleries and museums; Contemporary Form is the online showcase for his metal sculpture. For more information about the artwork or inquiries regarding commissions, please find the artist's email on the contact information page. Aluminum SculptureThough it might not look like it, the 10'6" tall piece at right is made of aluminum. Precise fitting and welding followed by an intensive finishing process, results in a minimalistic expression of form. Nathaniel's sculptures are inspired by human gestures, and the materials chosen for a given piece depend on the intent of the piece. In addition to aluminum sculptures, Hein creates art in copper and steel. The works of Giambologna, Lorenzo Bernini, Eduardo Chillida, and David Smith have influenced Nathaniel's aesthetic, which is also informed by the art of Anthony Caro, Jackson Pollack, and the Surrealists. |
